Have you ever wondered why a company like OpenAI can lose billions
of dollars and continue to receive funding? Do you find it odd that tech
billionaires now occupy every seat of power, from the boardrooms of
media giants to the chair next to the president? Why a tiny group of
individuals wields unfathomable power, seemingly with open support
from governments and banks?
All of these questions can be served by examining the interests which
these powers share as the answer lies in the product they sell to the
ultra-wealthy. OpenAI, Palantir, and Oracle were all built on the backs
of massive government contracts, utilizing technologies developed with
public funds. Their founders sold a lie, that technology was mean to
liberate working people and spread equality across the world. Instead,
we have seen global wealth inequality grow rapidly. This reveals the truth
of the matter: the ruling class already had access to these tools and they
have used these companies to introduce these tools in a way which they
could be weaponized against the public. What these companies sell is not
a product, but a system: a system for surveillance, behavioral control, and
total domination of society.
A vision for the new world order with unlimited funding from the financial
institutions of the world and more signs of government cooperation than regulation.
Our government has worked against us, using the wealth we create to
establish the very structures by which we may ultimately be destroyed. A
world in which “citizens will be on their best behavior because we are
constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on,” as Larry Ellison
stated. A world where “we can change your whole body, change your whole mind,”
according to Peter Thiel. A future we must reject, one in which “AI will probably
most likely lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there’ll be great
companies,” as Sam Altman has said.
Flock Safety is yet another weapon in this hostile takeover of our lives. Funded
through Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, Flock Safety has installed no fewer than
one hundred thousand cameras nationwide, forming a network called Nova that
processes over twenty billion data inputs each month. Here in Springfield, dozens
of Flock Safety cameras and audio monitors surveil us every day without our consent,
without transparency, and without democratic approval.
These devices are introduced insidiously. First on a “trial basis,” then quietly made
permanent without any public consideration. This tyrannical expansion of surveillance
has been fully embraced by city government, with the Springfield Police Department’s
2024 Annual Report calling Flock Safety devices “a permanent part of SPD’s
investigative assets.”
Springfield deserves a voice.
Springfield deserves consent.
Springfield deserves freedom.
