Information they capture is used to find stolen vehicles or catch accused criminals.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There are 3 privately owned license plate scanners in the Ravenwood South neighborhood.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>04\/04\/22 &#8211; Springfield Police Department\u2019s 2021 Annual Report<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfieldmo.gov\/DocumentCenter\/View\/57817\/SPDAnnualReport21_WEBFINAL\">SPD 2021 Annual Report<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Stationary license plate readers take snapshots of cars as they drive by, assisting investigators with locating stolen vehicles or suspects. The contract is for Oct. 6, 2022 to Oct. 5, 2023. The city must agree to a renewal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The cameras do not capture the speed and do not provide an image of the driver.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>07\/05\/23 &#8211; More license plate readers are being installed in the Ozarks. I mean, if you\u2019re on the street, you\u2019re seen anyway, and if you\u2019re not doing anything you\u2019re not supposed to do. What\u2019s the big deal?
